Introduction

এই মাক্কী সূরাটি নবী (ﷺ)-এর চাচা আবু লাহাবের (আক্ষরিক অর্থ: শিখার পিতা) প্রতি একটি সতর্কবাণী। আবু লাহাব ও তার স্ত্রী উম্মে জামিল উভয়েই নবী (ﷺ)-কে কষ্ট দিতেন এবং এক সত্য আল্লাহকে অস্বীকার করতেন, যাঁকে পরবর্তী সূরায় বর্ণনা করা হয়েছে। পরম করুণাময়, অসীম দয়ালু আল্লাহর নামে।

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.

দুষ্ট দম্পতির পরিণতি

1. আবু লাহাবের দু'হাত ধ্বংস হোক এবং সে নিজেও ধ্বংস হোক! 2. তার ধন-সম্পদ ও যা সে উপার্জন করেছে, তার কোনো কাজে আসবে না। 3. সে প্রবেশ করবে প্রজ্বলিত অগ্নিতে। 4. এবং তার স্ত্রীও, যে কাঠ বহনকারিণী, 5. তার গলদেশে থাকবে খেজুরের রশি।

تَبَّتْ يَدَآ أَبِى لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ

مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ

سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ

وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ حَمَّالَةَ ٱلْحَطَبِ

فِى جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّن مَّسَدٍۭ

Surah Al-Masad, verse 1

تَبَّتْ يَدَآ أَبِى لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ

আবু লাহাবের দু'হাত ধ্বংস হোক এবং সে নিজেও ধ্বংস হোক!

Surah Al-Masad, verse 2

مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ

তার ধন-সম্পদ ও যা সে উপার্জন করেছে, তার কোনো কাজে আসবে না।

سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ

সে প্রবেশ করবে প্রজ্বলিত অগ্নিতে।
