WORDS OF WISDOM

In verse 27, Allah talks about the firm Word of faith, 'la ilaha illa Allah' ('no god deserves worship except Allah'). We need to acknowledge that He is the only God that deserves our worship. It should be established in our hearts and reflected in our actions.
This word is the key to Jannah. But keys have teeth. One tooth is salah, the other tooth is zakah, and the third is fasting, and so on.
THE WORD OF FAITH
27Allah supports the believers with the firm Word 'of faith' in this life and the Next. But Allah leaves those doing Wrong to stray. Allah does what He wants.
يُثَبِّتُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِٱلۡقَوۡلِ ٱلثَّابِتِ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۖ وَيُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَۚ وَيَفۡعَلُ ٱللَّهُ مَا يَشَآءُ27
PUNISHMENT FOR THE UNGRATEFUL
28Have you not seen those who fail to give thanks for Allah's favours and lead their own people to their doom?
29In Hell they will burn. What an evil place to stay.
30They set up equals to Allah to distract 'others' from His Way. Say, 'O Prophet,' 'Enjoy yourselves! Surely your destination is the Fire.'
۞ أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ بَدَّلُواْ نِعۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِ كُفۡرٗا وَأَحَلُّواْ قَوۡمَهُمۡ دَارَ ٱلۡبَوَارِ28
جَهَنَّمَ يَصۡلَوۡنَهَاۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡقَرَارُ29
وَجَعَلُواْ لِلَّهِ أَندَادٗا لِّيُضِلُّواْ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦۗ قُلۡ تَمَتَّعُواْ فَإِنَّ مَصِيرَكُمۡ إِلَى ٱلنَّارِ30
ORDER TO THE PROPHET
31Tell My believing servants to pray salah and donate from what We have provided for them-privately and pub-licly-before the arrival of a Day when there will be no bribes or connections.
قُل لِّعِبَادِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ يُقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُنفِقُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقۡنَٰهُمۡ سِرّٗا وَعَلَانِيَةٗ مِّن قَبۡلِ أَن يَأۡتِيَ يَوۡمٞ لَّا بَيۡعٞ فِيهِ وَلَا خِلَٰلٌ31
ALLAH'S FAVOURS
32Allah is the One Who created the heavens and the earth and sends down rain from the sky, causing fruits to grow as food for you. He has put the ships at your service, sailing through the sea by His command. And He has done the same with the rivers.
33He has also put the sun and the moon at your ser-vice, both always orbiting. And He has done the same with the day and night.
34And He has given you everything that you asked Him for. If you tried to count Allah's blessings, you would nev-er be able to number them. Humankind is truly unfair, totally ungrateful.¹
ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَخۡرَجَ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ رِزۡقٗا لَّكُمۡۖ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡفُلۡكَ لِتَجۡرِيَ فِي ٱلۡبَحۡرِ بِأَمۡرِهِۦۖ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرَ32
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَ دَآئِبَيۡنِۖ وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ33
وَءَاتَىٰكُم مِّن كُلِّ مَا سَأَلۡتُمُوهُۚ وَإِن تَعُدُّواْ نِعۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحۡصُوهَآۗ إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لَظَلُومٞ كَفَّارٞ34
IBRAHIM'S PRAYERS IN MAKKAH
35'Remember' when Ibrahim prayed, 'My Lord! Make this city 'of Makkah' secure, and keep me and my children away from the worship of idols.
36My Lord! They have caused many people to stray. So whoever follows me is with me, and whoever disobeys me, then You are still Forgiving and Merciful.
37Our Lord! I have settled some of my children in a desert valley, near Your Holy House, our Lord, in order for them to pray salah. So attract the hearts of some 'believing' people towards them and provide them with fruits, so per-haps they will be thankful.
38Our Lord! You certainly know what we hide and what we show. Nothing on earth or In heaven is hidden from Allah.
39All praise is for Allah who has blessed me with Isma'il and Ishaq in my old age. Surely my Lord hears 'all' prayers.
40My Lord! Help me keep up salah, as well as those 'believers' among my children. Our Lord! Accept my prayers.
41Our Lord! Forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day the judg-ment will take place.
وَإِذۡ قَالَ إِبۡرَٰهِيمُ رَبِّ ٱجۡعَلۡ هَٰذَا ٱلۡبَلَدَ ءَامِنٗا وَٱجۡنُبۡنِي وَبَنِيَّ أَن نَّعۡبُدَ ٱلۡأَصۡنَامَ35
رَبِّ إِنَّهُنَّ أَضۡلَلۡنَ كَثِيرٗا مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِۖ فَمَن تَبِعَنِي فَإِنَّهُۥ مِنِّيۖ وَمَنۡ عَصَانِي فَإِنَّكَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ36
رَّبَّنَآ إِنِّيٓ أَسۡكَنتُ مِن ذُرِّيَّتِي بِوَادٍ غَيۡرِ ذِي زَرۡعٍ عِندَ بَيۡتِكَ ٱلۡمُحَرَّمِ رَبَّنَا لِيُقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ فَٱجۡعَلۡ أَفِۡٔدَةٗ مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ تَهۡوِيٓ إِلَيۡهِمۡ وَٱرۡزُقۡهُم مِّنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَشۡكُرُونَ37
رَبَّنَآ إِنَّكَ تَعۡلَمُ مَا نُخۡفِي وَمَا نُعۡلِنُۗ وَمَا يَخۡفَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مِن شَيۡءٖ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ38
ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي وَهَبَ لِي عَلَى ٱلۡكِبَرِ إِسۡمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسۡحَٰقَۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي لَسَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَآءِ39
رَبِّ ٱجۡعَلۡنِي مُقِيمَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِيۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلۡ دُعَآءِ40
رَبَّنَا ٱغۡفِرۡ لِي وَلِوَٰلِدَيَّ وَلِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلۡحِسَابُ41
WARNING TO THE WICKED
42Do not think 'O Prophet' that Allah is unaware of what the wicked do. He only delays them until a Day when 'their eyes will stare in horror–
43rushing straight, heads raised, never blinking, hearts ter-rified.
44And warn the people of the Day when the punishment will hit the wicked among' them, and those who did Wrong will cry, 'Our Lord! Give us a little more time, we will respond to Your call and follow the messengers!' They will be told, 'Did you not swear before that you would never be taken 'to the Next Life'?
45You passed by the ruins of those 'destroyed peoples' who had wronged themselves.² It was made clear to you how We dealt with them, and We gave you many examples.
46They made every evil plan, which was fully known to Allah, but their planning was too weak to even shake the mountains.³
وَلَا تَحۡسَبَنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَٰفِلًا عَمَّا يَعۡمَلُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَۚ إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمۡ لِيَوۡمٖ تَشۡخَصُ فِيهِ ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ42
مُهۡطِعِينَ مُقۡنِعِي رُءُوسِهِمۡ لَا يَرۡتَدُّ إِلَيۡهِمۡ طَرۡفُهُمۡۖ وَأَفِۡٔدَتُهُمۡ هَوَآء43
وَأَنذِرِ ٱلنَّاسَ يَوۡمَ يَأۡتِيهِمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ فَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ رَبَّنَآ أَخِّرۡنَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٖ قَرِيبٖ نُّجِبۡ دَعۡوَتَكَ وَنَتَّبِعِ ٱلرُّسُلَۗ أَوَ لَمۡ تَكُونُوٓاْ أَقۡسَمۡتُم مِّن قَبۡلُ مَا لَكُم مِّن زَوَالٖ44
وَسَكَنتُمۡ فِي مَسَٰكِنِ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ وَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمۡ كَيۡفَ فَعَلۡنَا بِهِمۡ وَضَرَبۡنَا لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَمۡثَالَ45
وَقَدۡ مَكَرُواْ مَكۡرَهُمۡ وَعِندَ ٱللَّهِ مَكۡرُهُمۡ وَإِن كَانَ مَكۡرُهُمۡ لِتَزُولَ مِنۡهُ ٱلۡجِبَالُ46
PUNISHMENT OF THE WICKED
47So do not think 'O Prophet' that Allah will fail to keep His promise to His mes-sengers. Surely Allah is Almighty, capa-ble of punishment.
48'Watch for' the Day when the earth will be changed into a different earth, and the heavens as well. All will appear in front of Allah, the One and Supreme.
49On that Day, you will see the wicked tied together in chains,
50with clothes of tar, and faces covered with flames.
51In this way, Allah will pay back every soul for what it has done. Surely Allah is quick in judgment.
فَلَا تَحۡسَبَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُخۡلِفَ وَعۡدِهِۦ رُسُلَهُۥٓۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٞ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٖ47
يَوۡمَ تُبَدَّلُ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ غَيۡرَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُۖ وَبَرَزُواْ لِلَّهِ ٱلۡوَٰحِدِ ٱلۡقَهَّارِ48
وَتَرَى ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ يَوۡمَئِذٖ مُّقَرَّنِينَ فِي ٱلۡأَصۡفَادِ49
سَرَابِيلُهُم مِّن قَطِرَانٖ وَتَغۡشَىٰ وُجُوهَهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ50
لِيَجۡزِيَ ٱللَّهُ كُلَّ نَفۡسٖ مَّا كَسَبَتۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلۡحِسَابِ51
A UNIVERSAL MESSAGE
52This 'Quran' is a message for humanity, so that they may take it as a warning, know that there is only One God, and those who truly understand may keep it in mind.
هَٰذَا بَلَٰغٞ لِّلنَّاسِ وَلِيُنذَرُواْ بِهِۦ وَلِيَعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّمَا هُوَ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞ وَلِيَذَّكَّرَ أُوْلُواْ ٱلۡأَلۡبَٰبِ52
