بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
1. By the dawn,
2. and the ten nights,
3. and the even and the odd,
4. and the night when it passes!
5. Is all this (not) a sufficient oath for those who have sense?
6. Did you not see how your Lord dealt with ’Ȃd—
7. (the people) of Iram—with (their) great stature,
8. unmatched in any other land;
9. and Thamûd who carved (their homes into) the rocks in the (Stone) Valley;
10. and the Pharaoh of mighty structures?
11. They all transgressed throughout the land,
12. spreading much corruption there.
13. So your Lord unleashed on them a scourge of punishment.
14. (For) your Lord is truly vigilant.
وَٱلْفَجْرِ١
وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ٢
وَٱلشَّفْعِ وَٱلْوَتْرِ٣
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ٤
هَلْ فِى ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِّذِى حِجْرٍ٥
أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ٦
إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلْعِمَادِ٧
ٱلَّتِى لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِى ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ٨
وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُوا ٱلصَّخْرَ بِٱلْوَادِ٩
وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِى ٱلْأَوْتَادِ١٠
ٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوْا فِى ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ١١
فَأَكْثَرُوا فِيهَا ٱلْفَسَادَ١٢
فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ١٣
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِٱلْمِرْصَادِ١٤
