An-Naml (Surah 27)
An-Naml (The Ants)
Introduction
This Meccan sûrah narrates the encounters of Solomon (ﷺ) with ants (hence the sûrah’s name), a hoopoe, and the Queen of Sheba—which do not appear in any other sûrah. Allah’s power to create and provide is contrasted with the powerlessness of the idols. Some deterring examples are given to the pagans, along with a warning of the horrors of the apocalypse. The Prophet (ﷺ) is reassured of the truth of the Quran and told that his duty is only to deliver the message. Judgment rests with Allah alone. In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful
