IntroductionUnseen

This sûrah, which takes its name from the thunder in verse 13, elaborates upon the last verses of the previous sûrah (starting with 105) relating to Allah’s magnificent signs in the heavens and earth which are met with neglect by the deniers; Allah’s knowledge, might, and unwavering support for His prophets; the authenticity of the Quran; and warnings to the disbelievers. The sûrah touches on the qualities of the believers and the disbelievers and the reward for each. All these themes are reiterated in the next two sûrahs.
