Hûd (Surah 11)
Hûd (Hûd)
Introduction
This Meccan sûrah is named after Prophet Hûd (ﷺ), whose story is mentioned in verses 50-60. More details are given about Noah (ﷺ) in this sûrah than the previous sûrah and Sûrah 7. Just like the previous sûrah, the stories of destroyed disbelievers are meant to deter the Arab pagans and reassure the Prophet (ﷺ) of his ultimate triumph, and a reference is made to the reward of the believers and the punishment of the disbelievers in the Hereafter. In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful
