WORDS OF WISDOM
- •
Many people don't get what they deserve in this world. Some evil people live like kings, and some good people suffer their whole life. In this world, junk usually floats on the surface of the sea, whereas pearls are buried at the bottom. According to verse 3 of this surah, one of the great things about Judgment Day is that it will put everyone in their right place - people of Jannah will be raised in rank, whereas people of Jahannam will be disgraced in the depths of Hell.
THE 3 GROUPS ON JUDGMENT DAY
)
1When the Coming Event finally arrives, 2then no one can deny it has come. 3It will bring some down and raise others up. 4When the earth will be violently shaken, 5and the mountains will be crushed to pieces, 6becoming dust, blown away, 7you will all be divided into three groups: 8the people of the right, how blessed will they be; 9the people of the left, how miserable will they be; 10and the best in faith will be the best in Jannah.
إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ 1لَيۡسَ لِوَقۡعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ 2خَافِضَةٞ رَّافِعَةٌ 3إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ رَجّٗا 4وَبُسَّتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ بَسّٗا 5فَكَانَتۡ هَبَآءٗ مُّنۢبَثّٗا 6وَكُنتُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا ثَلَٰثَةٗ 7فَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ 8وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشَۡٔمَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشَۡٔمَةِ 9وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ10
THE 3 GROUPS ON JUDGMENT DAY
1) the best in faith
11They are the ones who are closest to Allah, 12in the Gardens of Enjoyment. 13They will be a large number from earlier generations 14and a few from later generations. 15All will be on jewelled thrones, 16relaxing face to face. 17They will be served by young, eternal waiters 18with cups, jugs, and a drink from a flowing stream, 19that will not cause them to have headaches or to be drunk. 20They will also be served any fruit they choose 21and meat from any bird they desire. 22And they will have heavenly wives with beautiful eyes, 23like pure pearls, 24all of this as a reward for what they used to do. 25There they will never hear any nonsense or evil talk— 26only good and positive words.
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ 11فِي جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ 12ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ 13وَقَلِيلٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ 14عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مَّوۡضُونَةٖ 15مُّتَّكِِٔينَ عَلَيۡهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ 16يَطُوفُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وِلۡدَٰنٞ مُّخَلَّدُونَ 17بِأَكۡوَابٖ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأۡسٖ مِّن مَّعِينٖ 18لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنۡهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ 19وَفَٰكِهَةٖ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ 20وَلَحۡمِ طَيۡرٖ مِّمَّا يَشۡتَهُونَ 21وَحُورٌ عِينٞ 22كَأَمۡثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤۡلُوِٕ ٱلۡمَكۡنُونِ 23جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ 24لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغۡوٗا وَلَا تَأۡثِيمًا 25إِلَّا قِيلٗا سَلَٰمٗا سَلَٰمٗا26
THE 3 GROUPS ON JUDGMENT DAY
2) people of the right
27And the people of the right—how blessed will they be! 28They will be in the middle of lote trees with no thorns, 29stacked bananas, 30extended shade, 31flowing water, 32lots of fruits— 33which will never be out of season or hard to get— 34and raised furnishings. 35We will perfectly create their heavenly wives, 36making them young and pure, 37loving and of equal age, 38for the people of the right, 39who will be a large number from earlier generations 40and a large number from later generations.
وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ 27فِي سِدۡرٖ مَّخۡضُودٖ 28وَطَلۡحٖ مَّنضُودٖ 29وَظِلّٖ مَّمۡدُودٖ 30وَمَآءٖ مَّسۡكُوبٖ 31وَفَٰكِهَةٖ كَثِيرَةٖ 32لَّا مَقۡطُوعَةٖ وَلَا مَمۡنُوعَةٖ 33وَفُرُشٖ مَّرۡفُوعَةٍ 34إِنَّآ أَنشَأۡنَٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءٗ 35فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُنَّ أَبۡكَارًا 36عُرُبًا أَتۡرَابٗا 37لِّأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ 38ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ 39وَثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ40
THE 3 GROUPS ON JUDGMENT DAY
3) people of the left
41And the people of the left—how miserable will they be! 42They will be in terrible heat and boiling water, 43in the shade of black smoke, 44not cool or refreshing. 45Surely before this punishment they were spoiled by fancy life, 46and they kept doing the worst of sin. 47They used to ask mockingly, “When we are dead and turned into dust and bones, will we really be brought back to life? 48And our fathers too?” 49Say, O Prophet, “Most definitely, the first and last generations 50will surely be gathered together for a fixed Day for judgment. 51Then you, O misguided deniers, 52will certainly eat from the evil fruit of the trees of Zaqqum, 53filling up your bellies with it. 54Then on top of that you will drink boiling water— 55and you will drink it like thirsty camels.” 56This will be their welcome on Judgment Day.
وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ 41فِي سَمُومٖ وَحَمِيمٖ 42وَظِلّٖ مِّن يَحۡمُومٖ 43لَّا بَارِدٖ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ 44إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتۡرَفِينَ 45وَكَانُواْ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلۡحِنثِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ 46وَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ 47أَوَ ءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ 48قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ 49لَمَجۡمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوۡمٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ 50ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبُونَ 51لَأٓكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٖ مِّن زَقُّومٖ 52فَمَالُِٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ 53فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ 54فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرۡبَ ٱلۡهِيمِ 55هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ56

3) people of the left

وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ 41فِي سَمُومٖ وَحَمِيمٖ 42وَظِلّٖ مِّن يَحۡمُومٖ 43لَّا بَارِدٖ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ 44إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتۡرَفِينَ 45وَكَانُواْ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلۡحِنثِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ 46وَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ 47أَوَ ءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ 48قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ 49لَمَجۡمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوۡمٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ 50ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبُونَ 51لَأٓكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٖ مِّن زَقُّومٖ 52فَمَالُِٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ 53فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ 54فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرۡبَ ٱلۡهِيمِ 55هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ56
ALLAH's power
1) creating human
57It is We Who created you. Will you not then believe in life after death? 58Did you ever think about the human seed you produce? 59Is it you who create a baby out of it, or is it We Who do so? 60We have written death for all of you, and We cannot be stopped 61from changing and re-designing you in forms you cannot imagine. 62You already know how you were first created. Will you not then keep this in mind?
نَحۡنُ خَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ فَلَوۡلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ 57أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تُمۡنُونَ 58ءَأَنتُمۡ تَخۡلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡخَٰلِقُونَ 59نَحۡنُ قَدَّرۡنَا بَيۡنَكُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَسۡبُوقِينَ 60عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمۡثَٰلَكُمۡ وَنُنشِئَكُمۡ فِي مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ 61وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُمُ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ فَلَوۡلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ62
ALLAH's power
2) causing plants to grow
63Did you ever think about what you plant? 64Is it you who cause it to grow, or is it We Who do so? 65If We wanted, We could simply tear up those plants, leaving you to cry, 66“We have really suffered a big loss. 67In fact, we have been left with nothing to eat.”
أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تَحۡرُثُونَ 63ءَأَنتُمۡ تَزۡرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلزَّٰرِعُونَ 64لَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ حُطَٰمٗا فَظَلۡتُمۡ تَفَكَّهُونَ 65إِنَّا لَمُغۡرَمُونَ 66بَلۡ نَحۡنُ مَحۡرُومُونَ67
ALLAH's power
3) bringing rain down
68Did you ever think about the water you drink? 69Is it you who bring it down from the clouds, or is it We Who do so? 70If We wanted, We could make it salty. Will you not then give thanks?
أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَآءَ ٱلَّذِي تَشۡرَبُونَ 68ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنزَلۡتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُزۡنِ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنزِلُونَ 69لَوۡ نَشَآءُ جَعَلۡنَٰهُ أُجَاجٗا فَلَوۡلَا تَشۡكُرُونَ70
ALLAH's power
2) producing fire from trees
71Did you ever think about the fire you light? 72Is it you who produce firewood, or is it We Who do so? 73We have made it as a reminder of Hell and support for the travellers. 74So praise the Name of your Lord, the Greatest.
أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِي تُورُونَ 71ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنشَأۡتُمۡ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنشُِٔونَ 72نَحۡنُ جَعَلۡنَٰهَا تَذۡكِرَةٗ وَمَتَٰعٗا لِّلۡمُقۡوِينَ 73فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ74
message of those who reject the quran
75So I swear by the locations of the stars in the galaxies— 76and this, if only you knew, is really a great oath— 77that this is truly a noble Quran, 78in a protected heavenly Book, 79touched by none except the pure angels. 80It is a revelation from the Lord of the whole universe. 81How can you then take this message lightly, 82and pay Allah back for all your resources by denying Him?
فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ 75وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٞ لَّوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ 76إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرۡءَانٞ كَرِيمٞ 77فِي كِتَٰبٖ مَّكۡنُونٖ 78لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ 79تَنزِيلٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ 80أَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدۡهِنُونَ 81وَتَجۡعَلُونَ رِزۡقَكُمۡ أَنَّكُمۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ82
a challange to the deniers
83Why then are you helpless when the soul of a dying person reaches their throat, 84while you are watching? 85And We are closer to such a person than you, but you cannot see. 86Now, if you are not under Our authority as you claim, 87bring that soul back, if what you say is true.
فَلَوۡلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلۡحُلۡقُومَ 83وَأَنتُمۡ حِينَئِذٖ تَنظُرُونَ 84وَنَحۡنُ أَقۡرَبُ إِلَيۡهِ مِنكُمۡ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبۡصِرُونَ 85فَلَوۡلَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ غَيۡرَ مَدِينِينَ 86تَرۡجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ87
Which of the three will you be?
88So, if that dead soul is one of those close to Us, 89then this person will be welcomed with rest, pleasant smells, and a Garden of Enjoyment. 90And if that soul is one of the people of the right, 91then they will be told, “Greetings of peace to you from the people of the right.” 92But if that soul is one of the misguided deniers, 93then they will be welcomed with a boiling drink 94and burning in Hell. 95This is truly the ultimate truth. 96So praise the Name of your Lord, the Greatest.
فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ 88فَرَوۡحٞ وَرَيۡحَانٞ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٖ 89وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ 90فَسَلَٰمٞ لَّكَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ 91وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ 92فَنُزُلٞ مِّنۡ حَمِيمٖ 93وَتَصۡلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ 94إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ 95فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ96
