Introduction

এই মাক্কী সূরাটি রাসূলুল্লাহ (ﷺ)-কে আশ্বস্ত করার জন্য অবতীর্ণ হয়েছিল। যেহেতু রাসূলুল্লাহ (ﷺ)-এর পুত্রগণ শৈশবেই ইন্তেকাল করেছিলেন, তাই আল-আস ইবনে ওয়াইল নামক একজন কুখ্যাত মাক্কী মুশরিক বলতো যে, মুহাম্মাদ (ﷺ) বিস্মৃত হবেন, কারণ তাঁর নাম বহন করার মতো কোনো পুত্র নেই। আজ ‘মুহাম্মাদ’ পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে প্রচলিত নাম, পক্ষান্তরে আল-আসের নাম কদাচিৎ উচ্চারিত হয়। রাসূলুল্লাহ (ﷺ)-কে কেবল আল্লাহর প্রতি একনিষ্ঠ হতে নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে, যা পরবর্তী সূরার মূল বিষয়বস্তু। আল্লাহর নামে—যিনি পরম দয়ালু, অসীম দয়াময়।

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

নবীর প্রতি সুসংবাদ

1. নিশ্চয়ই আমি আপনাকে প্রচুর কল্যাণ দান করেছি। 2. অতএব, আপনার রবের উদ্দেশ্যে সালাত আদায় করুন এবং কোরবানি করুন। 3. যে আপনাকে ঘৃণা করে, সে-ই তো নির্বংশ।

Surah Al-Kawthar, verse 1

إِنَّآ أَعْطَيْنَـٰكَ ٱلْكَوْثَرَ
নিশ্চয়ই আমি আপনাকে প্রচুর কল্যাণ দান করেছি।

Surah Al-Kawthar, verse 2

فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَٱنْحَرْ
অতএব, আপনার রবের উদ্দেশ্যে সালাত আদায় করুন এবং কোরবানি করুন।

إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ ٱلْأَبْتَرُ
যে আপনাকে ঘৃণা করে, সে-ই তো নির্বংশ।
