The Inevitable Hour
Al-Ḥâqqah

LEARNING POINTS
This surah talks about the punishment of those who deny life after death.
It also describes the horrors of Judgment Day and how the believers will be happy and the disbelievers will be miserable.
The surah proves that the Quran is Allah's Word and Muhammad (PBUH) is His Prophet.

WORDS OF WISDOM
Like many of the following surahs, this surah talks about the apocalypse--the horrible things that will happen before the Final Hour of Judgment. This includes the destruction of the world as well as many other major and minor signs. Some students keep asking questions about these signs. Some of the companions of the Prophet did the same thing and he asked them, And what have you done to prepare for that Day? {Recorded by Imam Al-Bukhari & Imam Muslim} So, it doesn't matter if Judgment Day comes tomorrow or after a month or 100 years. What matters is: are you ready for that Day? To be ready, we have to do the things that Allah loves (such as salah, charity, kindness, respect, and so on) and stay away from the things that He dislikes (hatred, backbiting, stealing, evil, and so on).
THE HOUR IS COMING FOR SURE
1The Coming Hour! 2What is the Coming Hour? 3And what will make you realize what the Coming Hour is?
EXAMPLES OF DESTROYED PEOPLE
4Both' Thamud and 'Ad rejected the Striking Hour. 5As for Thamud, they were destroyed by a horrible blast. 6And as for Ad, they were destroyed by a very wild, cold wind, 7which Allah unleashed on them for seven nights and eight days in a row, so that you would have seen its people lying dead like trunks of fallen, hollow palm trees. 8Do you see any of them left alive? 9Also, Pharaoh and those before him, and the people of Lut's' cities turned upside down—they all kept sinning, 10each disobeying their Lord's messenger so He took them with a crushing grip. 11Surely when the floodwater had overflowed, We carried you in the floating Ark 'with Nuh', 12so that We may make this a reminder to you, and that listening ears may learn a lesson.
HORRORS OF JUDGEMENT DAY
13At last, when the Trumpet will be blown with one blast, 14and the earth and mountains will be lifted up and crushed with one blow, 15on that Day the Coming Event will have finally arrived. 16The sky will then be so torn that it will be weak, 17with the angels on its sides. On that Day eight 'mighty angels' will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 18You will then be presented 'before Him for judgment', and none of your secrets will stay hidden.

THE WINNERS
19As for those given their book of deeds in their right hand, they will shout happily', "Here 'everyone'! Read my book! 20I surely knew I would face my judgment." 21They will be in a life of enjoyment, 22in a Garden raised high, 23whose fruit will be easy to reach. 24They will be told, "Eat and drink happily for what you did in the past life."
THE LOSERS
25And as for those given their book of deeds in their left hand, they will cry in shock, "Oh no! I wish I had not been given my book, 26or known anything of my judgment! 27I wish death was the end! 28My wealth has done me no good! 29My authority has been taken away from me." 30It will be said, "Grab and leash them, 31then burn them in Hell, 32then tie them up with chains seventy feet long. 33This is because they never had faith in Allah, the Greatest, 34Or encouraged feeding the poor. 35So this Day they will have no close friend here, 36Or any food except nasty filth, 37which none will eat except the people of sin."

BACKGROUND STORY
Before Omar ibn A-Khattab became Muslim, he was totally against Islam. One day, he passed by the Prophet while he was reciting this surah in prayer at night by the Ka'bah. Omar started to listen secretly and he was amazed by the recitation. He said to himself,Ths man is a poet, as the people of Makkah say. This is when the Prophet recit- ed verse 41 which says that the Quuran is not the work ofa poet. Omar then said, Well, he must be a fortune-teller. The Prophet a then recited verse 42 which says that he s is not a fortune-teller. Omar became surprised and asked himself, What is it then? The Prophet recited 43, saying that the Qu ran is a revelation from the Lord of the whole universe. Omar said that this was the time when the Quran first touched his heart. He later accepted Islam when he found out that his sister and his brother-in-law were reading Surah Ta-Ha (20) in secret. {Recorded by Imam lbn Kathirl}

THE QURAN IS ALLAH'S WORD
38Now, I swear by whatever you see, 39and whatever you cannot see! 40Surely this 'Quran' is the recitation of a noble Messenger. 41It is not the work of a poet 'as you claim,' 'yet' you hardly have any faith. 42And it is not the mumbling of a fortune-teller, 'yet' you hardly remember. 43It is' a revelation from the Lord of the whole universe.

BACKGROUND STORY
Prophet made up the Quran himself. So verses 44- The idol-worshippers claimed that the had made up the Quran, Allah would have been the 47 came down to tell them that if he was honest, and this is why Allah supported him. first to punish him . But the Prophet {Recorded by Imam Al-Qurțubi)

WORDS OF WISDOM
To prove that the Quran is the Word of Allah, the Quran challenged the deniers with a 'falsification test'-which means that if they wanted to Challenge prove that the Quran was made up by the Prophet , they needed to do the following 2 things:

1, Make something like the Quran (17:88), or 10 surahs (11:13), or even one surah (2:23).
2. Find a mistake in the Quran (4:82)
Although the Arabs of that time were the masters of the Arabic language, they were unable to complete these challenges. Instead, they responded by saying: Let's go to war!
THE QURAN IS NOT A FABRICATION
44If the Messenger had made up something in Our Name, 45We would have definitely grabbed him by his right hand, 46then cut his heart's main vein, 47and none of you could have protected him 'from Us!
THE QURAN IS THE TRUTH
48Surely this Quran' is a reminder to the Faithful. 49And We definitely know that some of you will keep denying, so it will surely be a source of regret for the disbelievers. 50And certainly this Quran' is the sure truth. 51So praise the Name of your Lord, the Greatest. 52So praise the Name of your Lord, the Greatest.
