LEARNING POINTS

Allah reminds His Prophet that He has showered him with many blessings in this life and promises more for the Next Life, including a special river in Jannah called Al-Kawthar.

The Prophet ﷺ is asked to worship Allah and not worry about those who challenge him because they are doomed.

BACKGROUND STORY

BACKGROUND STORY

The Prophet ﷺ had 3 sons, who all died in childhood. An evil Makkan idol-worshipper, named Al-As ibn Wa'il, used to say that Muhammad ﷺ would be forgotten once he died because he had no son to carry his name. (Recorded by Imam Ibn Kathir)

Today, 'Muhammad' (spelt in different ways) is the most common name in the world, whereas the name of Al-As is rarely mentioned. We know more details about the Prophet ﷺ, his life, and legacy than any other person in history.

Michael Hart, a Jewish American author, published a book in 1978 that lists the 100 most important people in human history, with the Prophet ﷺ at the top of the list. In his book, Hart says that Muhammad was the only person in history who was very successful in terms of religion and matters of this world.

WORDS OF WISDOM

WORDS OF WISDOM

This is the shortest surah in the Quran, with only 3 verses and a total of 10 words. The idol-worshippers (who were the masters of Arabic) were challenged to create just one chapter equal to the size of this surah, but they couldn't do it.

GOOD NEWS TO THE PROPHET

1Surely We have given you, O Prophet, infinite blessings. 2So pray and sacrifice to your Lord alone. 3Only the one who hates you is truly cut off from any goodness.
