People try to achieve happiness in many different ways. Most think only money will make them happy, not caring if it's halal (permissible) or haram (forbidden), or about the poor. In Islam, there's nothing wrong with making a lot of money; many companions promised Jannah (Paradise) were rich, like Abu Bakr, Othman, and Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf. They earned their wealth through business, using it for a good life and to help others.

Money isn't everything. For instance, it can buy medicine, but not good health; a bed, but not sleep; and fancy things, but not happiness. This is why some millionaires are miserable, even taking their own lives. Their lives are poor because money is all they have. One of the best ways to achieve happiness is by helping others; when we take care of people, Allah takes care of us.

SIDE STORY

A rich Muslim, asked about his happiness, shared his journey: Initially, he found joy in his salary, then more when his business prospered, allowing him to buy expensive cars, fancy homes, and even a soccer club. Despite all these acquisitions, he felt an inner emptiness. His perspective shifted when a friend told him about an organization helping handicapped kids. He donated 400 wheelchairs. At the event, a child in a new wheelchair approached him, saying he wanted to remember his face to ask Allah for the donor's Jannah (Paradise) on Judgment Day. This emotional encounter brought him to tears, revealing the true meaning of happiness.

SIDE STORY

Uncle Donald had no farm. So, every day he would sit in front of his little house with a sad face. One day, the king passed by and asked why he was sad. The farmer said, 'I don't have a farm.' The king asked, 'If I give you a big land, will this make you happy?' The farmer said, 'Of course! The bigger, the better.' The king said, 'I'll make a deal with you. Any distance you walk in my kingdom will be yours. But you have to come back and let me know how far you walked, so I can write you a contract.' Of course, the farmer was dancing in the streets. He started from his little village until he reached a big city 20 miles away. He thought about going back to the king. But he said to himself, 'I am still 37 years old. I can walk more, and take more land.' He walked to another city, and crossed to another province/state, and the one after. But he said, 'I am still 44. I can walk more.' Finally, he reached the ocean. He said, 'The whole country is now mine, but I am still 59. I can build a boat, cross the ocean, and take over the continent on the other side.' However, he slipped and hit his head hard while he was working inside the boat. Eventually, he died and the boat became his grave. How much land did he take?

WASTED LIVES

1Competition for more distracts you 'from Allah, 2until you end up in 'your Graves. 3But no! You will soon know. 4Again, no! You will soon know. 5In fact, if you had sure knowledge 'of your end', 'you would have acted differently'. 6But' you will surely see Hell. 7Again, you will surely see it with your own eyes. 8Then, on that Day, you will definitely be questioned about 'your worldly' pleasures.
